Lauren Disston brings extensive criminal trial experience and a penetrating analytical mind to the ACH team. A Bay Area native and graduate of Berkeley High School, Lauren received a B.A. in psychology from Stanford University. There, she received the highest academic honors and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.  She went on to receive a full academic scholarship to Boalt Hall School of Law at U.C. Berkeley. At Boalt, Lauren served as Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of International Law and was the recipient of the Moot Court Advocacy Award for written and oral advocacy.  Lauren also worked as an extern for the Honorable Charles Breyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Inspired by her criminal trial practice professor, Cris Arguedas, Lauren decided she wanted to begin trying cases immediately after law school. Upon graduation, Lauren joined the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled hundreds of cases, including scores of felony preliminary hearings, and more than 30 trials.

Lauren has served as a volunteer attorney for the Donald McCullum Youth Court and an attorney coach for the U.C. Berkeley Mock Trial Team. She has also served as a member of the Attorneys for Children Toy Drive Committee, a member of the Earl Warren American Inns of Court, and a member of the Alameda County Law Day Committee.
